“Mavi Tulumlar” is one step ahead
As part of "Mavi Tulum" project, on April 12 Arif Nihat Asya Catalca Industrial Vocational High School Plumbing and Air Conditioning Technology Department’s students, teachers, and Yapı Kredi Emeklilik’s project team have paid a visit to our factory.
Our Business Development Director Engin HIZ and our Technical Advisor Er ERIŞIK gave a speech to the students in detail about Air Conditioning Technology and the future of the importance of the recently opened department.
After a general presentation, students have visited the factory and have already entered to list of one who is looking to the future with hope.

LOOKING TO THE FUTURE WITH HOPE
In February 2011 on 22-23-24 approximately 120students from Lemanana Elementary School and the Rotary 100th Anatolian High School participated training days of factory.
Cihan Cetin -HR Specialist - made a presentation to students in order to ensure that they get to know the institution better about Arçelik, LG and Arçelik-LG. Afterwards engineer colleagues Tuna Durmaz, Mehmet İnan, and Berat Ökmengil made a presentation about production lines, produced products and showroom. Students were informed about the production technology and air conditioning sector.
After visiting production lines R&D Technicians Gürkan Keskin and Sonat Yayla made another presentation to students which indicate the importance of vocational high schools and answer the questions of students.
At the end of the program Business Development Manager, Engin Hız, made an interactive presentation to students about how to succeed and in what areas they need to develop and about career life and answered the questions of students.
On the very positive responses from the students and teachers in order to look future with hope we have understood once again that this kind of training and visits are very important as part of social responsibility for tomorrow's work colleagues developments.
April 2, 2010 – The Handicapped Career Day
A “Handicapped Career Day” was organized for the first time in Turkey on April 2, 2010 at the Beşiktaş Marriage Hall. Arçelik A.Ş. and LG Klima Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., companies from the Koç Group, also took part in that special day with a joint stand prepared together.
On the said carrier day, which was organized for the first time in Turkey, the efforts were directed at enabling the employers that tried to reach the handicapped citizens for employment and the handicapped citizens who sought employment to meet.
BThe leading architect of the project, the Galatasaray Rotary Club and the Rotaract Clubs organized the Handicapped Career Day with the assistance of the Beşiktaş Municipality, the Turkish Spinal Cord Apoplectics Association and Yenibiriş (a New Job.com).
The interest in the stand prepared by the companies Arçelik A.Ş. and LG Klima Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. was intense. While a large number of handicapped citizens obtained information about our companies, our companies too collected the C.V’s of many handicapped citizens to compile a database for the possible future needs for employing the handicapped citizens.
We congratulate our companies, which have participated in this and other similar projects that provide public benefits and wish that many more of our companies would take part in similar projects in the future.

The Arçelik- LG employees heeded the cries of the Bitlis Güroymak Güzelli
The Arçelik- LG employees heeded the cries of the Bitlis Güroymak Güzellik Village’s Primary School for help “I work in the Güzellik Village’s Primary School attached to the Güroymak District of Bitlis. A total of 243 students are taking education in our school in the 1st to 5th grades, comprised of 197 students in the 3 classes and 51 in 1 elementary class. After completing the 5th grade, our students can continue with their educations only at the regional boarding schools.
We want many things from you: BOOKS
We believe that reading and research is needed besides education in order to enable our children to grow up as individual that can understand the world better and can think freely.
A book means the life for a child. Starting from there, we are calling out to you “we want a lot: BOOKS” with a book collecting campaign organized in order to make our school’s library richer and more colorful.
You the book lowers are the ones, who will quench the thirst of our children for books just like the thirst of the soil for rain. We know that you will heed our call, and will not withhold your support. We are expecting your books at the address below
The call of the primary school teacher Mehmet Yalçın, who has reached our company through out website, affected us greatly. Therefore we organized an aid campaign within the company. We delivered the books, stationary and playing materials we collected and donated as a result of the help we received to the school.

Arçelik-LG donated blood to the Kızılay (Red Crescent) under the cope of the “For my Country” project.
Koç Holding is continuing with its social responsibility projects among its companies, dealers and suppliers. The “For my Country” project, which is aimed at realizing the projects that will develop a more participating attitude against the social problems and support the local ventures to raise the standard of life, is ever growing and getting stronger with every passing year. Koç Holding is directing the light and energy of the “For my Country” movement, which it has been continuing with determination, to the issue of donating blood in cooperation with the Turkish Kızılay. The purpose is spreading the voluntary blood donation issue wide in our country, which is organized regularly in the more advanced countries especially, by organizing a National Blood Donating campaign with Kızılay in 2010 and raising the awareness about the importance of donating blood for the human lives.
The first organization of the campaign is in May-July and the second in October-December. Our company has organized three donation days for the first campaign and 188 Arçelik LG employees have donated blood voluntarily.
